The origins of Easter can be traced back to ancient pagan celebrations of the spring equinox. Many cultures, including the ancient Egyptians, Persians, and Romans, celebrated the arrival of spring with festivals and feasts. These celebrations often included symbols of fertility, such as eggs and rabbits, which were seen as a sign of new life and growth.
What is Easter?
For Christians, Easter is a Christian holiday that commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. We celebrate Easter because not only did our Lord conquer death, but without the resurrection, we have no foundation for our faith.
"For if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised either.
And if Christ has not been raised, then all our preaching is useless, and your faith is useless.
And we apostles would all be lying about God—for we have said that God raised Christ from the grave. But that can’t be true if there is no resurrection of the dead.
